At least 121 workers have been killed in a blaze that gutted a garment factory on the outskirt of Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka, fire service officials said Sunday.On duty official Ziaur Rahman told Xinhua by phone Sunday morning that 121 workers were killed in the factory fire and all of them died of stampede or jumping from upper floors of the factory.

Almeno tre persone sono state uccise e altre 23 persone ferite quando una bomba è esplosa nei pressi di una moschea nella città portuale del sud del Pakistan di Karachi, nella notte di Domenica, ha detto un funzionario. Sharfuddin Memon, Consigliere ministro degli Interni di provincia del Sindh, dove Karachi è la sua capitale, ha detto che l’esplosione che ha colpito Mustafa moschea, la più grande moschea per i musulmani sciiti nella città, nella notte di Domenica, ha ucciso almeno tre musulmani sciiti tra cui una donna e ferito altre 23 persone. I feriti anche cinque membri del Rangers, una forza paramilitare in Pakistan, che sono stati inviati alla moschea per proteggere le preghiere, ha confermato un portavoce di Rangers. Fonti ospedaliere hanno detto che almeno sei feriti sono in condizioni critiche e il bilancio delle vittime potrebbe ulteriormente aumentare. PHUKET: A 29-year-old Korean tourist on holiday in Phuket has died while snorkeling off Phi Phi Island during a day trip to the popular beach resort.
The man, named by Tourist Police as Jury Kuk Kim, was on a Korean package tour and staying at a hotel in Patong.
The tour group, comprising about 40 tourists from South Korea, arrived in Phuket on Thursday and were due to depart today (September 30).

On Saturday afternoon at 5pm officers from the Police Region 2 Anti-Human Trafficking Division arrested a 19 year old woman outside of Big C Extra in Central Pattaya, accused of selling her 15 year old cousin to a foreigner for sex.  On this occasion the foreigner was an operative for the Police Unit and began by speaking with Khun Siriporn aged 19 on Pattaya Beach in front of Central Festival Pattaya Beach where a fee of 4,500 Baht was agreed in exchange for sexual services with the 15 year old girl..  full story pattayaone

Amnesty decree passes cabinet

The cabinet yesterday endorsed a royal decree to seek amnesty for convicts on His Majesty the King’s birthday next month in a move criticised by the opposition as being designed to benefit former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
